The Truth
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had it with all the political talk, debate, and ads that have been filling the airwaves lately. Does anyone out there know the truth? Can anyone running for political office simply tell the truth even if it makes them look bad or the other guy good? I really like Sarah Palin, I can relate to her, she’s as much like me as anyone I’ve seen run for office, but I have to be honest, I was disappointed to hear her make so many factually incorrect statements in the debate. As soon as the debate was over, you could read article after article relating how both candidates misrepresented the facts—I call that lying. Is that what politics is all about, distorting the facts, lying, to make you look good and the other guy bad? That’s exactly why so many of us are so totally disillusioned by our government and its politicians. Would someone step to the forefront and tell the truth? If they voted the wrong way, admit it, and help us see what they would do differently. I guess I really don’t have a problem with someone changing their mind...in fact, that is a good thing especially after honest research, fact finding, and reflection there is good reason for a changed mind. Stubbornness or inflexibility isn’t always the most admirable way to handle complex situations. Is there a way for us to stand up and call for truth and integrity, even if the truth is hard to take?
As I was reading Jeremiah, it occurred to me that the people of
What saddens me the most is that so many of us have taken a relativistic view of truth even though we claim to be children of the King. I have come to expect the truth twisting we see so often in the world, in politics and business, but in the Church of Jesus Christ? There is no excuse for that! God’s Word is ABSOLUTE TRUTH. As Followers of Christ, speaking the truth should be one of our greatest personal goals. We should seek to speak the truth every time we open our mouths. The truth of the Gospel, YES....but also, the truth about whatever we’re talking about—without exaggeration, partial facts, or any other type of “spin” that would lead someone to an incorrect conclusion about the what really happened. If we, in our personal lives, participate in relativistic truth, should we expect anything less from those who don’t claim to be Followers of Christ? We must set the standard for truth in our own lives first.
As usual, my blogs always point back to me and my accountability to God. Am I known for telling the truth? The Truth of the Gospel? An honest, forthright, truthful mouth? I want to be known as a person whose words are filled with truth, the Truth of the Gospel and true and honest words, whenever I speak.

well then, that could mean risking censorship... right?
or does that speaking the truth only apply to some truth???
As you know, I like S.P. too. In fact this made me pause and look out the window, turn and bend my head down toward the floor---and say: "Help us, help us LORD."
I hope she hasn't lied or spoken with shade. I hope your sources are the typical, hypocritical, falsely analytical giants of media bias. But that wouldn't be a normal you, to allow them to turn your view.
It is important that the source is an accurate source. Since Sarah is a professing Christian, before we join any ranks in challenging her honesty, RESEARCH REQUIRED.
So, I hope (almost against hope) that you're wrong because I so want her to "stand, stand, stand" TRUE and right.
"Therefore, put on the full armor of GOD so that when the day of evil comes you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace..."- Ephesians 6
First of all,I still like S.P. I was very hesitant to write this blog because it's so hard to know if both what you're reading and hearing is true, but that was the whole point of the blog. It appears to me that both candidates misrepresented the facts to make their case, especially when targeting their opponent. If you can verify that everything she said was correct, I'd be extremely grateful to hear that, that would be such a breath of fresh air in the political process. Actually, that's exactly what I was calling for, 100% truthfulness, no "spin", exaggeration or misrepresentation. That needs to be the way we live our lives, in truth, so that when we speak no one has to wonder is it true or not.
Thanks for this post. I am very distraught by the current political campaigning and hubbub.
If you have time, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on my recent post found here:

I am working on follow-up post regarding how a can Christian vote.
Regarding the truth, I am certain that both sides throw falsities around. It is very possible that these are presented in ignorance of the truth, but that doesn't make light of the matter at all.
When I vote, I see that as God directing His stamp of approval on a particular candidate. And, I take that very seriously. When I stand before the Lord on my day of judgement, I do not want to be held accountable for the immoral and atrocious actions our nation may have taken because of the leadership that has been elected.
People tell me I must vote for the “lesser of two evils”. And, in the light of Christ, I simply can not do that. And, in the light of seeking truth, it is very difficult to find an answer.
We are living in very difficult times. God is sovereign, yet it is our responsibility to be informed and to pray, pray for wisdom, insight and understanding so we can make the best possible choice. If you believe, like I do, that we are living in the last days, the world is being put into a position where everyone is looking for someone who can straighten out the mess we're in. I'm afraid that in the process of his straightening, they are going to willingly give up rights and freedoms that we, especially as committed followers of the true King, hold dear. These are times that call for earnest, heartfelt prayer as well as total dependence on our Sovereign.
AND REMEMBER:
Revelation Chapter One: THE FIRST AND THE LAST = JESUS CHRIST is "THE RULER of the kings of men."
Every WORD of GOD TRUE...
HE will do...
Regardless of the human vote.
Prior to Sarah Palin on the scene, my answer to voting was that I would only "fast and pray."
LITERALLY.
Now? "fast and pray and vote for Sarah and McCain."
and then more "fast and pray."
I do not know what McCain was like prior to Sarah...
I do not really know what he is like today...
However, I do consider her to be a TRUE woman of faith.
And wherever McCain was, and wherever he is--- that is NOT THE SAME PLACE as before. Because GOD has brought an "ezer" (Hebrew word = helper = strong warrior)to roar.
I look at the world and think satan is on the loose. I look at GOD'S WORD and recognize TRUTH. JESUS RULES.
And I tremble at the joy to consider that I might be given the strenuous stress and satisfaction of living during "the last days."
Yes. I definitely think so.
"Look He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him. Even those who pierced Him. And all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be. Amen." Revelation 1
But not we... We THE PEOPLE OF GOD...
{{{{{{{ REJOICE!!!!! }}}}}}}
but first,
struggle.
and fast.
and pray.
