I Will Be the One
When you’re involved in ministry, it’s easy to get discouraged. You start looking at the apathy and lack of participation and involvement and you wonder "why bother?” It’s so easy to take your focus off of the One you’re ultimately serving, which is our God, and focus on everyone around you. I’m reminded of the prophet Elijah and his discouragement following the annihilation of the prophets of Baal as told in I Kings 18-19. After witnessing a great victory on
I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.” (19:10, repeated 14)
You can almost hear the wine in his voice can’t you? I can relate. Been there...done that. It’s so easy to look at everyone else...but I don’t have to answer for anyone else, only for MY obedience.
So this morning, and I have to admit I was feeling a little discouraged because of the lack of involvement in a ministry I’m involved with, while I was exercising, a song came on that spoke to me and my need to be the one, even if I’m the only one. It asks a series of questions and gives a resounding answer, “I will be the one!” It really challenged me to maintain a God-centered focus as I serve Him.

I will be the one
I will be the one, even if no one else joins me. This is my commitment. I’ll serve Him even if I’m serving alone, but my guess is that you will be joining me.

My thought here is that if you are looking for help in regards to position or appointment, often you will find your hands grasping and empty. However, if you look for help in GOD MOST HIGH and trust HIM to provide irregardless of position or appointment, you will find your hands clasped by the people of GOD- maybe just one comrade, maybe a million.
"Unless the LORD builds a house, they labor in vain who build at all." and that means continued, continual dependency upon HIM. and TRUST.
HE will have HIS way with you. HE will have HIS way with the ministry. It is not for or from or among the strong or the mighty... or based upon rules and regulations of men or man. IT IS BY GOD'S SPIRIT AND FROM GOD'S SPIRIT.
My challenge to you this day, my friend of thought-full TRUTH... look for the remnant. and in the remnant of GOD- those that truly seek HIM and find HIM, in these will you find comrades for the journey.
and they might not have position.
or appointment.
but they will know the MAN OF POSITION and the LORD APPOINTED as HEAD of the Body- the church...JESUS CHRIST. and more than this, they will be moving and active by the power, not of flesh, but of HOLY SPIRIT
